Description

To advance the purpose of ECPA, this position will serve existing, new, and potential voting members, small press affiliates, international affiliates, and industry affiliates through timely handling of member inquiries, applications, and renewals in ways that foster strong member engagement and retention and enhances the value proposition of ECPA.

Provide Excellence to the Membership Process by:
• Serving as the resource for incoming member and affiliate inquiries and responding with
appropriate and invitational information in a timely manner
• Partnering with the president on envisioning and executing voting, small press, and
international affiliate recruitment and closures in an efficient manner, focusing on our
strongest leads
• Partnering with the president on developing and delivering quarterly “Introducing
ECPA” virtual onboarding program via Zoom to new members and affiliates who have
arrived since the prior session
• Monitor and report on renewals of various member classifications
• Maintain and regularly disseminate internally a robust, actionable, qualified member
recruitment list

Providing Other Member and Program Care and Management by:
• Communicating key membership developments through reports at least quarterly at
ECPA staff meetings
• Contributing to the development of ECPA Annual Plans and Strategic Plans, especially in
the areas of member recruitment, retention and service
• Format and dispatch annual member surveys, and culling information it generates for
consideration and action by ECPA staff
• Update contact management software regularly to maintain optimum efficiencies with
our lists
• Complete monthly Association of American Publishers (AAP) StatShot data supplied by
participating members, in partnership with president
• Assist with Zoom productions (webinars, online events) in service to our members



Requirements

• Affirm ECPA’s statement of faith and principles and practices
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• An ability to work effectively and independently, while recognizing when to ask for
assistance
• Ability to learn ECPA’s member and affiliate categories, programs, services, and value
• A working knowledge of current Microsoft Software applications and ability to learn Your
Membership contact management software
• Demonstrated ability and commitment to work in a team environment with diverse
working and communication styles
• A very limited amount of travel to an ECPA event is possible, but not required
• Prior experience at an ECPA-member publisher and engagement at an ECPA training
event valued but not required
